Hello! I'm Jakob.

Welcome to my little place on the Internet. This smol webpage is about things and projects I'm interested in. I like to write about servers, services, windows and linux. Expect regular updates and visit me from time to time.

In the spirit of old times this webpage is kept simple and clean. No cookies are set and no JavaScript is used. Small scripts are used to glue everything together and the (modified) CSS is nicely provided by SimpleCSS. No AI has been used in the process whatsoever.

About me

My name is Jakob and I live in the beautiful and green city of Hannover, Lower Saxony. I'm currently 38 years old.

My passion lies in the systems administration and I love building and deploying services like HTTP, DNS, E-Mail. I enjoy computer systems and clients and tinkering with them ;-). Mostly Linux on bare metal or using WSL. In the past years I've switched to macOS because of the underlying UNIX base and homebrew makes it quite easy to install opensource programs. Also my old Macbook Pro 13 Retina 2013 was a cheap entry into the world of modern Macs.
